Super Mario Bros/2006, 7th generation-Super Mario Bros was released May 7th 2006 released by Nintendo and was well liked in japan selling over 480,000 units on the day it was released, and in four days it sold 900,000 copies which at the time made it japans best-selling debut in japan. In the US it sold 500,000 copies in the first 35 days and then 1-million copies were sold 12 weeks after release.It then steadily increased through the years reaching 30.8-million by march 2016 making it the best selling game for the Nintendo DS and one of the best selling games of all time. The game was available on the Nintendo DS and DSI. The target audience for Super Mario Bros was the full family being available to all ages 3+ with no gender bias, the features of the game include jumping, running, and battling enemies through different levels making the game difficult to play.

Overwatch, 8th generation-Overwatch was released May 24th 2016 and according to Blizzard,who released it,had over 7 million players and 119 million hours in its first week of release and had over 10-million players by mid June. Blizzard further reported that there were 50-million players as of November 2019. In the US May 2016 on the month that it was released it was the third best-selling retail video game and was the top selling game on June 2016. The target audience for Overwatch is people above 12 but it leads more towards gamer’s who prefer a more competitive experience. The game features the standard fps features like moving etc, but it also includes abilities exclusive to each hero which all have varied amounts of abilities but they all have an ultimate ability. There are 3 main game mode categories including quick play which is the basic mode which teaches people the game, competitive is the same as quick play but there is a rank system as well as longer games, and finally arcade which features all the other smaller modes which can be limited time or event based.
