Risk assessment in 211

What is a Hazard-A hazard is what may cause a potential injury to the person affected such as a trip hazard or chemical hazard.

What is a Risk-A risk is the type of injury that may be caused, for example someone working high up has a risk of falling or someone in a confined space has the risk of banging their head.

Who/What are you protecting-The priority would be the people that you’re protecting from any hazard, which would be the people on set as well as anyone else who is near any equipment needed for the shoot. As well as the people the equipment needs to be protected from any potential hazard as well.

What is duty of care-Duty of care is a legal obligation which is imposed on an individual requiring adherence to a standard of reasonable care.

Why do we use Risk Assessments-We use risk assessments to help identify any potential health hazards that could affect the people in the area. This helps identify hazards to stop them from happening in the first place.
